WiRE Networking Meet-ups

Compelling Presenters. Welcoming Environment. Women Only

Join us on Wednesday May 16th in Montreal for the next WiRE Networking Meetup.

WiRE meet-ups present a welcoming and casual opportunity to meet peers, share ideas and opportunities, and educate colleagues about projects and initiatives of interest to the group. All women working in a field related to renewable energy are invited, as are students and developing professionals who are looking for perspectives on joining the renewable energy sector. Light refreshments are served.

Guest Speaker: Marie-Hélène Labrie, Première vice-présidente, Affaires gouvernementales et communications chez Enerkem / Senior Vice President, Government Affairs and Communications at Enerkem

This is a bilingual event: Ms Labrie will present in French.

Marie-Hélène Labrie traitera de l’historique d’Enerkem, de sa technologie innovante et durable en matière de déchets et de diversification énergétique, de la place et du développement d’Enerkem aujourd’hui à l’échelle nationale et mondiale et des projets futurs de l’entreprise dans la bioéconomie.

À titre de première vice-présidente, Affaires gouvernementales et Communications, Marie-Hélène Labrie supervise à l’échelle internationale toutes les activités liées aux relations avec le gouvernement et aux communications. Auparavant, Mme Labrie a œuvré dans les domaines de la communication, de la stratégie d’affaires et de l’analyse de marchés en tant que directrice, Marketing et planification stratégique chez CAE, ainsi qu’à titre de consultante pour diverses sociétés, dont Desjardins Sécurité financière et Oliver Wyman Delta Organization & Leadership.

En 2016, Marie-Hélène a été nommée ambassadrice canadienne du Clean Energy Education & Empowerment (C3E) women’s initiative par le gouvernement fédéral canadien. De plus, elle agit à titre de vice-présidente du conseil d'administration d'Écotech Québec, une grappe industrielle des technologies propres, de coprésidente du conseil de CETEQ, qui représente des entreprises privées du secteur des technologies environnementales, et elle est membre du conseil d’administration de l’association Biocarburants avancés. Marie-Hélène représente également l'entreprise auprès du Advanced Ethanol Council à Washington. En 2015-2016, elle a agi en tant qu'experte sur le comité des biocarburants avancés créé par la Commission européenne.

Marie-Hélène a débuté sa carrière au ministère de la Défense nationale, puis chez Industrie Canada et au Bureau du Conseil privé du gouvernement du Canada.

Elle est titulaire d'une maîtrise en gestion internationale des entreprises (M. Sc.) et d'un baccalauréat en administration des affaires (B.A.A.) de l'Université Laval.

ENGLISH: Marie-Hélène Labrie will discuss the history of Enerkem, its innovative and sustainable waste and energy diversification technology, Enerkem's place and development nationally and globally, and the future projects of Enerkem in the bioeconomy.

As Senior Vice President, Government Affairs and Communications, Marie-Hélène Labrie oversees all government relations and communications activities globally. Prior to joining Enerkem in 2008, she worked in communications, business strategy and market analysis as Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning at CAE, as well as a consultant for numerous organizations, such as Oliver Wyman Delta Organization & Leadership and Desjardins Financial Security. Mrs. Labrie began her career at the Government of Canada, in the Department of National Defense, and pursued it at Industry Canada and the Privy Council Office.

In 2016, Marie-Hélène Labrie was nominated Canadian Ambassador of the Clean Energy Education & Empowerment (C3E) women’s initiative by the Canadian federal government. She serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Écotech Québec, a cleantech cluster, as Co-President of the board of CETEQ, which represents private companies in environmental technologies, and is a Board member of Advanced Biofuels Canada. She also represents the company on the Advanced Ethanol Council in Washington. In 2015-2016, she acted as an expert on the Sub-Group of Advanced Biofuels created by the European Commission.

Mrs. Labrie holds a Masters in International Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Université Laval in Québec City.
