About this event

At this lunch-time event, Dr. Megan Elias, Director of the Gastronomy Program at Boston University and author of Lunch: the History of a Meal, makes an argument that sandwiches are a category of food uniquely suited to teaching about the human past. Exploring the history of sandwiches themselves and also demonstrating how a particular sandwich can introduce us to the themes of North American history, Dr. Elias will lead a sandwich-making exercise and discussion in the Culinaria Kitchen.
