Hear how countless citizens are joining forces to prototype solutions for greater livability and resilience, and how inventive acts of everyday democracy can lead us toward an 'enabling' society.
Light refreshments are provided.
This event is in support of the Enabling City Volume 2 book tour and marks the launch of the Voices of New Economies compendium report - a collaboration of One Earth and the Canadian Community Economic Development Network (CCEDNet), and part of Cities for People. Thank you to The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation and The HiVE for their generous support of this event.
About Enabling City:
Enabling City is an organization that works to advance social innovation as a form of active citizenship, particularly in the areas of urban sustainability and participatory governance. We strive to creatively respond to today’s most pressing issues by harnessing community imagination as a tool of social transformation. Our work and writing spark new ways of thinking about participation, encouraging experts and enthusiasts alike to generate engaging insights that lead to positive change.
About the Voices of New Economies report:
One Earth and CCEDNet have joined forces to create the Voices of New Economies report launched at this event. We are inspired by all those who are rising up to shape new economies, recognizing that our current economic system is no longer serving us well - ecologically, socially and even financially. What began as a series of blogs to crowdsource definitions of new economies is now assembled into this compendium. The report gives voice to innovative leaders who are finding different economic paths forward. We encourage you to continue this dialogue and develop new economic approaches that serve people, place and planet.
