About this Event

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO SUPPORT EFFORTS IN REDUCING THE SPREAD OF COVID-19. REGISTRANTS WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN A NEW DATE IS DETERMINED.

This free one-day training will be offered over 3 consecutive days. Evidence-Based Approaches to Substance Use looks at how we can reduce substance use and its harms by offering interventions from combination of a clinical/health perspectives and a traditional/community approaches. Staff who work in the fields of health, justice, education and social services are welcome to attend, as well as interested community members. are encouraged to attend.

The training runs on May 27th, 28th & 29th from 8:30am-4:30pm and includes presentations by Kerrie Moore, Dr. Peter Butt, local services, as well as a breakout session and a collaborative case study.

Please purchase a ticket for either the Clinical OR the Trauma-Informed breakout sessions not both. These sessions run concurrently in the afternoon. The morning provides an overview of both topics.

The clinical breakout will focus on prescribing pharmacological interventions (e.g: Naltrexone/Acamprosate) and is best for physicians/pharmacists /medical residents.

The trauma-informed breakout will focus more on intervention techniques that are culturally sensitive and trauma-informed- best suited for social workers, wellness workers, education, etc.

If you are purchasing tickets for persons other than yourself, please fill out separate contact forms to include their names and contact info.
