Event description

Description

As part of Safe & Accepting Schools, TLDSB is committed to developing, maintaining, and encouraging practices that model and reinforce respectful behaviours. Engaging in teaching and learning about Executive Functioning Skills (EFS) are some ways that as OT's we can foster an accepting and caring culture in classrooms.

Some students may have challenges with memory, planning, attention and or initiating tasks. This presentation will focus on EFS and how they relate to Learning Disabilities. This includes attention, working memory, initiation, regulation, inhibition, shifting, monitoring, and planning -organizing .

Best practice strategies will be examined in order to assist students with EFS challenges. In addition, resources that relate to how this will assist in your classroom management and meeting the needs of various learners will be distributed.
