EXPECTING SUNSHINE - Feature Doc
Event Information
Description
Exposing the journey of grief, healing, and pregnancy after the early loss of a child, Expecting Sunshine is a creative and touching film. It documents an actual loss - Zachary Chute, filmmaker Alexis Marie Chute's second child, who died at birth from a cardiac tumor - and the healthy pregnancy and delivery that followed years later. Through intimate interviews, the film shares real stories of bereaved mothers and fathers, researchers, counselors, advocates, doctors, and nurses. Expecting Sunshine breaks the taboo around this common yet hidden type of loss. One in four pregnancies end in miscarriage. One in one hundred-and-sixty pregnancies end in stillbirth.
Pregnancy loss and early infant loss affect many, which is why Expecting Sunshine is a needed and impactful documentary.
