We were all due for a reconnection with the roots - a spiritual communion between the mythical place that saw so many unforgettable nights, and one of the main artisans of those nights. Here it finally is - Blake returns to the decks! After two cruel years we finally seem to be climbing out of, let's come together again around this music we all love.
Ottawa Prog Vibes and City at Night are proud to present this edition of Expeditions, Ottawa's progressive house night.
This special evening features a headliner that has graced the decks of City at Night many times and is one of the pillars of our city's progressive scene, Blake Sutherland. Opening the night for Blake will be OPV residents Steve Finney and Alain M.

Blake Sutherland has been at the forefront of melodic dance music for over two decades. As founder of Wide Angle Recordings, he has introduced original music from some of the scene's most innovative artists, including Max Cooper, Gab Rhome, Deepfunk, Cid Inc, Antrim, and Pole Folder.Blake Sutherland's seminal podcast Cityscape Sessions, served as a platform for cutting edge progressive mixes for over 10 years, eventually giving rise to an event series of the same name in his hometown of Ottawa, Canada. Under his direction, Cityscape Sessions ushered in a number of highly influential mixes and played host to some of the biggest melodic dance music names in the world, including Jeremy Olander, Eelke Kleijn, and John 00 Fleming.As a DJ, Blake Sutherland's passion for his craft has taken him around the world, with appearances in Canada, the United States, Germany, Netherlands, the UK, and Australia.
Alain M. has been a DJ, off and on, for over 25 years. His sound is resolutely progressive, thoughtfully melodic and infectiously groovy and rhythmic. He produces the weekly radio show and podcast Ottawa Prog Vibes, now in its fourth year, which is broadcast on Cosmos Radio (Berlin) every Saturday. He is also a resident on Belgium's XBeat Radio (once a month) and England's Beach Radio (every other Wednesday).
As founder of Ottawa Prog Vibes he has also produced a number of live events including the Expeditions series, Shake my Thursday, Sit Down Sessions, Levitar, and has appeared as a guest DJ at recent events including Echoes 2 and Black Rabbit Festival.
Steve Finney is a talented DJ who grew up in the UK listening to the classic trance and rave tracks of the 90's. Now based in Ottawa, he loves to listen to and mix a more chilled out and mellow sound using the best of organic and progressive tracks. However, those 90's trance synth and pad sounds still permeate through, with the tribal sounds of the rave era also prevalent. Steve is a resident DJ with Ottawa Prog Vibes and curator of the Mellow Prog Vibes series. He also has a new monthly residency on the Abyss Sound Experience show, which airs on #questlondonradio (UK).
