About this event

The Office of the Superintendent of Professional Governance (OSPG) will host a free interactive webinar November 7 explaining a registrants’ obligations under the Duty to Report requirements in Section 58 of the Professional Governance Act (PGA).

The training will be provided by OSPG staff and delivered virtually in a two-hour session using MSTeams. The webinar is interactive and will include large and small group discussions. Please be ready to contribute your thoughts and have your cameras and microphones turned on when needed.

Course materials will be emailed to participants following the training.

Learning Outcomes

Registrants will learn:

• The rational for why statutory reporting requirements were included in the PGA;

• How to identify if the statutory duty to report has been triggered; and

• The similarities and differences between the reporting requirements under the PGA and Standard 9 of the ABCFP Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct.

Note: This webinar focuses on Section 58 (Duty to Report) of the Professional Governance Act and is not specific to ABCFP Bylaw 9 (Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct). ABCFP webinars available on our website provide specific training on the ABCFP Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct.

Under the Professional Governance Act and ABCFP Bylaw 10, every practicing RPF and RFT registrant is required to undertake, and report to the ABCFP, 30 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) between December 1 and November 30 each year. You must use the CPD Reporting Tool to record your hours.
