Event description
Join us to strengthen your competency around inclusion, and explore how systemic injustice impacts your leadership and the people you serve.

About this Event

Leaders are facing questions about equity and inclusion and how we challenge ourselves to address the systemic barriers that exist within our organizations and within the broader community. These issues are complex and deeply personal. As leaders we need safe and brave spaces to explore who we are as leaders, unpack our own power and privilege, reflect on our biases and their impact on our staff and the clients we serve. As leaders, we need to be pro-active in strengthening our competency in this area.

Building on the latest work in diversity, bias and power and using storytelling, mindfulness and embodied practice, we will create an experiential, reflective and playful space to explore power, privilege and oppression in leadership.

Join leadership coaches and facilitators Indy Batth, Louise Pitre and Shannon Thompson in exploring how the systems of injustice, including racism and classism impact on our leadership practice and the lives of the people that we serve in our organizations.

This workshop is intended for individuals in formal, or informal leadership positions within organizations/networks who are interested in growing their own competency about power, privilege and oppression.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Increase understanding of how systems of injustice, racism and classism, play out in your own life and in the lives of the people we work with and serve.
  • Increase your awareness of the role of social identity and different types of power in human interactions.
  • Examine your leadership practice through a Power, Privilege and Oppression lens.
  • Develop an action plan and strategies to deepen equity and inclusion in your workplace.

FACILITATORS:

Indy Batth, Shannon Thompson and Louise Pitre are coaches, facilitators and consultants that ground their work in love and justice. They work with individuals, leaders and organizations to understand PPO and how to co-create a world where there is equitable access to power and resources.

They bring varied training (CTI, Royal Roads, ORSC, Neuroscience Coaching, Power Intelligence®, Deep Diversity®, Deep Democracy, Emotional Intelligence, Theatre for Living, Social Presencing Theatre, Conflict Resolution) and different life experiences, but they share a mission to bring this conversation to teams, organizations and communities.
