A glittering glass superdome under the stars? Check.
Your rig, in the middle of the biggest mall in North America? Check.
Your friends and hundreds like you? Check.
Fundraising with massive potential? Absolutely.

You can enjoy all that and more at Extra Life Edmonton's 24-hour Game Day 25-hour marathon on November 2, 2019, in support of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation with 200+ gamers: games, prizes, shenanigans, incentives, and more. Bring yourself, your gaming equipment (anything like TVs, consoles, computer, etc.; no TVs over 40 inches; you must have a surge protected powerbar), and your spirit!

There is no cost to this event, but you do need to fundraise for the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation. Be aware fundraising and/or donations are not ticket costs and will not be refunded in the case of reservation cancellation. Check out the criteria below.

To attend our Game Day 2019 marathon event, you just need to do these things:

1. Create an Extra Life profile and be sure to select The Stollery as your fundraising hospital.

2. Start fundraising for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation! There is a $75 minumum fundraising requirement to attend our event. To secure their registered seat, each participant must have individually raised $75CAD (~$56USD) under their own individual Extra Life profile by 5:00 PM on October 20, 2019. Registration after October 20, 2019 will be audited for compliance to this requirement and removed without prejudice.

3. Successfully register your seats on Event Brite. Choose a window that gives you enough time to set up and test your station, mingle, and be ready for opening ceremonies at 2:00PM. Each registration allows for selection of up to four seats.

Please use a PC to register for the best experience, as Eventbrite does not allow seat selection on mobile.

Why is there a fundraising minimum?

Extra Life Edmonton is a volunteer group committed to supporting the Stollery Children’s Hospital through year-round fundraising and the Game Day event is intended to be a celebration of those efforts. We ask that all attendees do their part to help us reach our fundraising goal for the year. Keep in mind that the $75 minimum is not a price of admission, but a gesture that shows you’re committed to doing your part to help kids in need. The Extra Life Edmonton Guild does not manage or distribute the funds and does not directly benefit from the fundraising minimum.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Photo identification is required upon arrival at the event. Student ID is accepted. A waiver must be signed before participation in the event.

Attendees of all ages are welcome, but those under 15 must be accompanied throughout the event by an attending parent or guardian. Registrants 17 years or younger must have the waiver signed by their parent or guardian.

Which arrival time should I choose? Will I miss anything if I arrive later?

Arrival times are designed to facilitate a smooth load-in for all attendees. Pick an arrival time that allows you enough time to set up and test your station before the event gets underway at 2:00PM. You won't miss any scheduled activities as long as you arrive during your arrival window.

Arrive for setup no later than the time stated on your reservation. If you arrive late, you may have to wait until other participants have had their equipment loaded before we can help you. Load in is not available after 2:00PM. If you are concerned, please contact us at extralifeeedmonton@gmail.com.

After I've checked in and set up my station, can I leave to go get lunch etc.?

Yes - you will be provided a wristband to move freely around the mall and return to the secured venue in the ice rink. Note that we are not liable for any items left unattended.

What can/should I bring into the event?

Please refer to our lists of required, recommended, and prohibited items at yegextralife.org/the-event/. Information about what we will provide is available there as well.

You are expected to bring your own gaming equipment - anything you'd like to play for the 25 hours! We will have a board game library, tournaments, and scheduled programming on discord.gg/yegextralife available. TVs over 40 inches are not allowed. CRT TVs may not be allowed - please contact us.

Please bring whatever will keep you comfortable over the 25-hour period. We encourage you to bring non-perishable snacks, a change of clothing and some warm slippers (that ice gets chilly!).

Do I have to bring my printed reservation to the event?

No. You may bring your electronic reservation on your smartphone or as a print out. You must have your reservation available to be scanned at the event upon arrival.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes; however, please avoid doing so within 48 hours of the event to allow us time to prepare our on-site registration.

Is it ok if the name on my reservation or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No. You must be registered under your own name, and your registration must match your Extra Life profile for us to check that you meet the minimum fundraising requirement. Duplicate registrations are subject to deletion without notice. Keep in mind that each person should be completing their own registration or have a parent or guardian complete it on their behalf.

How do I sit with my friends? Can you move us to be seated together?

You will need to coordinate with your friends to choose seats at the same table. We are not able to edit attendees' registrations.
