This September 15-17, we invite you to the Faculty of Medicine’s Homecoming Weekend, featuring our fifth annual gala, Abracadabra: A Night of Magic & Medicine "Conjuring Tomorrow" in celebration of the uOttawa Brain and Mind Research Institute (uOBMRI).

PLEASE NOTE: In order to register for the Strokes for Stroke Golf Tournament and the Faculty of Medicine signature gala, Abracadabra: A Night of Magic & Medicine, you will need to navigate to separate registration pages.

Welcome Reception: Homecoming Kick-Off (Alumni and their guests)

Date & Time: Friday, September 15, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM
Location: Lago Bar and Grill, 1001 Queen Elizabeth Dr, Ottawa (Dow`s Lake Pavilion)

Join us and reunite with classmates and colleagues to celebrate the opening of Homecoming with a private cocktail reception.

Professional Development Event: Twenty First Century Medicine in Canada (Open to all)

Date & Time: Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 10AM to 12:45 PM (refreshments included)
Location: uOttawa Skills & Simulation Centre, 725 Parkdale Avenue, Ottawa

Session 1: Medical assistance in dying and the new Canadian reality (Dr. Jeff Blackmer)

Session 2: Is it possible to create a sustainable healthcare system in Canada? (Dr. Jack Kitts)

This program is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and The College of Family Physicians of Canada.

University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute: Strokes for Stroke Golf Tournament (Open to all)

Date & Time: Saturday, September 16, 2017, 8 AM (Breakfast) and 9:30AM (Shot-Gun Start)
Location: The Marshes Golf Club, 320 Terry Fox Drive, Kanata (Ottawa)

Join classmates, colleagues and friends for a wonderful round of golf in support of the Stroke Research Consortium at the beautiful Marshes Golf Club in Kanata. The Consortium aims to systemically research the underlying mechanisms of stroke injury, improve recovery among survivors and implement delivery of best practices for this debilitating condition.

Join us for the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine’s fifth annual Abracadabra gala. This year we’re celebrating the wonders that lie ahead in medical education and research. The evening will spotlight the uOttawa Brain and Mind Research Institute, a world-class team of researchers and clinicians dedicated to creating a better tomorrow for people living with brain-related illness.

Alumni Awards of Distinction & Farewell Brunch (Alumni and their guests)

The Faculty of Medicine will be conferring its most distinguished awards for alumni, the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Rising Star Award. Please join us for the short ceremony and come say farewell to your classmates at our relaxed gourmet brunch.
