Fair Trade is a growing niche market and has become mainstream in today’s consumption patterns of everyday products such as coffee, tea, sugar and chocolate. Today’s entrepreneur wishing to do “good” in the world and to do “well” in business should be considering fair trade. This seminar will offer the background to fair trade and opportunities that exist in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Canada.

Attendee will learn the following:

1. How fair trade contributes to the sustainable development goals
2. Growing trends in corporate social responsibility and ethical consumption
3. What is happening locally that will interest socially and environmentally responsible entrepreneurs

Janice Hamilton is the Executive Director of the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation. MCIC has programs that promote fair trade and the sustainable development goals.
