Norcada & Hitachi High-Technologies Canada are pleased to welcome you to the first in-situ microscopy workshop in Alberta.

Hosted by the Nanotechnology Research Centre at the University of Alberta Campus, the workshop will showcase the state-of-the-art microscopy facilities at NRC.

This full day event will begin with presentations in the morning and hands on demonstration of in-situ heating in various high-resolution electron microscopes in the afternoon.

Keynote Speech: Dr. Jane Howe - In-Situ Heating of Extra-Terrestrial Samples

Dr. Jane Howe will be giving the Keynote Presentation on her research project focused on in-situ heating of lunar soil samples from Apollo missions 14 & 17. The project was a collaboration between NASA, University of Arizona, Hitachi and Norcada.

1:00 pm - 4:45 pm Afternoon Hands-On Demonstrations
4:45 pm - 5:00 pm Closing Remarks

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Lunch will be provided for participants registered through Eventbrite. Tickets will not be available at the door.

The afternoon demonstration sessions will be in breakout groups selected from the registered participants. Due to the nature of the experiments and setup of the venue, the number of participants in some sessions will be limited.

The full program will be emailed to all registered participants on Monday October 22, 2018.
