About this event

Welcome to the 6th annual Family Medicine Research Symposium, hosted by the Family Medicine Graduate Student Society of McGill and the McGill Family Medicine Research Division. This year’s edition will take place virtually, and we invite students, healthcare providers, academics, and community members to participate from wherever they are located.

During this 2-day event, students and research assistants from diverse disciplines within the Faculty of Medicine will present their research in health, healthcare or healthcare systems. Presentations will take one of three forms: live oral, pre-recorded oral, or poster presentations, and presenters may have the opportunity to be published in the McGill Journal of Medicine.

In addition to these presentations, this symposium will also feature two expert panel discussions. The first, on May 13th, 2021 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM, will surround the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on health and healthcare research. The second panel, on May 14th, 2021 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM, will include a discussion on patient and physician engagement in health research. Keep an eye out on this event page to be the first to learn who these panelists are!

There is no cost associated with attending this symposium. However, we encourage attendees to make a small donation to Resilience Montreal upon registering to RSVP to this event. Resilience Montreal is a non-profit day shelter and wellness centre in Montreal, Qc. They offer food, clean clothes, and mental and medical support to anyone in need.
