Fan/Joy Jr. Chef HALF DAY Summer Culinary & Life Skills Day Camp

About this Event

Is your child a Jr. Chef in the making? Are they looking for adventure in the kitchen and to gain some new found cooking skills while also making new friends?

Join award winning Chopped Canada Champion Chef Pam Fanjoy, who is also a reputable Clinical Social Worker with 25 + years of experience working with teens and thier families. In her 30 seat restaurant in #hillsburgh, this innovative Chef is now combining her therapy experience to help children learn communication skills, collaboration and cooperation in working as a team all in a real commercial restaurant kitchen. We invite you to bring your friends for lunch as these Jr. Chefs will use their new culinary skills and serve lunch in the restaurant with Chef Pam, learning a whole other set of valuable skills out in the dining room serving our community!

Registration fee includes:

- daily technical culinary instruction from Chef Pam herself along with clinical life skills coaching that focuses on building confidence, developing problem solving skills, enhancing communication strategies and appreciating the need for personal self care while these Jr. Chefs are working in the kitchen

- all nutritional snacks & daily lunch

- a new kitchen tool every day to start their own personal 'knife kit' (value $100)

- Fan/Joy Jr. Chef hat and t-shirt

- Fan/Joy Jr. Chef Cookbook Workbook with recipes and step by step instructions

- Fire safety training in conjunction with Erin Fire Department including a field trip to the Hillsburgh Fire Department

- Fan/Joy’s Chopped Jr. Chef Competition –lunch time Friday

For all day Jr. Chefs they will also experience:

- Field trip to Wellington County Library in Hillsburgh for a culinary cookbook journey

- Field trip and tour of one of Fan/Joy’s local farms that supply the restaurant where we will learn about gardening, sustainability, environmental responsibility and farm to table food. Parent volunteers welcome.

- An introduction to BBQ techniques throughout the afternoons including grilling, smoking, and vegetable cookery.

Half Days 9 am-1pm $ 695.00 + HST

Full Days 9am-5pm $1095 + HST

Before & After Care (8am-9pm/5-6pm) $150/week
