Event description

Description

Join Steampunk Suzy and learn how simple and fun it can be to create your own fascinator!

Fascinators originated in the 19th century and were typically a knitted or crocheted type of head covering. Now fascinators are created with all sorts of fibres including feathers, netting, fabric, flowers etc and are worn as an alternative to a hat. Fascinators are generally attached to a band or a clip and can be as wild or sedate as their creators.

Steampunk???? Listen as Suzy explains how technology and victorian style or wild west fashions have merged to create the the sub-culture known as Steampunk.

Suzy will demonstrate how to make facinator hats and teach you everything you ever wanted to know about the Steampunk movement and the annual Coldwater Steampunk Festival.
