Event description

Open your body up. Write your heart out.

In this hybrid yoga, meditation and free-writing experience you'll be guided through movements that will unblock emotional tension in your body, plus writing and meditation exercises designed to release the fears in your mind.

If you ever wonder whether you're being held back by limiting thoughts or beliefs (ideas like thinking you're not good enough/strong enough/smart enough/worthy enough to pursue the things you want in life) then this class is for you.

After this 4-week series, you will have rediscovered a stronger sense of self, and you will feel empowered with a clear path to break through your fears.

Sign up now, space is limited to only 8 participants to allow for a more personalized experience. As this is a pre-registered series, signing up secures your place for four classes:

  1. Tuesday April 17 @ 7:15pm - IDENTITY
  2. Tuesday April 24 @ 7:15pm - INTUITION
  3. Tuesday May 1 @ 7:15pm - POWER
  4. Tuesday May 8 @7:15pm - POSSIBILITY

What's so special about this series?

The emphasis of the experience is on expression and exploration, less about the mechanics and structure you might find in a typical yoga class. Yes, there will be elements of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), and meditation, but we're here to break the mould, not fit into one. In any given class be prepared to:

  • Move beyond the confines of your yoga mat
  • Express yourself through movement and writing
  • Engage your muscles as well as your heart & soul
  • Face your fears - physical or emotional

Every class will be unique and sequenced according to a four-week progression; trust that you will get just what you need from each class you attend. By joining in, you agree to respect yourself and other participants by approaching this as a 100% judgement-free experience.

Other FAQs

What time do classes start?

Doors will open at 7:00pm and you're encouraged to arrive in time to sign in, settle in and set up for class. The class starts promptly at 7:15pm.

I've never done yoga before, can I still participate?

You may follow along more easily if you have some yoga experience but if you have an open mind and are brave enough to free your spirit (and laugh at yourself along the way) then no yoga experience is necessary. Please let Nicole know ahead of time if you are working with a particular injury or condition so she can offer ways to modify your practice accordingly.

I'm not a writer. Is this still for me?

Absolutely. No writing experience or skill is necessary. The writing prompts are designed to invite you to express yourself through "stream of consciousness" writing; in other words, without any concern for spelling, grammar or poeticism.

You will be invited to share your words with the group but this is not a requirement. Although to be honest, if the idea of reading what you wrote to a group of strangers scares you, then it's quite possibly exactly what you should consider doing (this will make sense once you experience it).

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the class?

You must be 18 years or older to participate. All participants will be required to fill out a health check form and/or waiver form prior to participating in the class.

What should I bring to the class?

Please bring:
- Water bottle
- Comfortable exercise clothing
- Yoga mat
- A notepad/journal

Where is the class located?

Classes are conveniently located at 93 Emerald St N, with easy access by bus or car (street parking is available). They take place in a beautiful, open and serene studio space. The building was formerly used as a church but is now a home studio. As this is home to Nicole, her husband and their two cats, please be respectful of the space and treat it as you would your own.

Eeek! I'm allergic to cats. Can I still come?

Yes you can! The space is a cat-free zone during yoga classes but if you have a severe sensitivity or allergy to cats please be aware that there are cats on the property.

What's your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your registration with a minimum of 72 hours notice, please contact There will be no refunds issued within within 72 hours of the first class, but you can transfer your spot to a friend or family member.

Namaste by Nicole proudly offers a "peace of mind promise" on your purchase. If you attend your first class and you decide it isn't for you, I will give you your full money back (less any Eventbrite processing fees if paying by credit card).

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
