We recognize that support groups can help bring together people facing similar issues. We also recognize that those with dysphagia may have barriers to attending in-person swallowing support groups for several reasons: they don’t exist in your location, you have physical disabilities that prevent you from easily traveling outside your home, and more.
A support group is not replacement for standard medical or psychological advice and care, but a support group can be an additional valuable resource to help you make connections with others facing similar challenges.
The adult swallowing support group will take place on Zoom. It will be moderated by Zuleikha Wadhwaniya and Ashwini Namasivayam-MacDonald, licensed speech-language pathologists. Adults living with dysphagia and their caregivers are welcome.
The Zoom link will be emailed out to all registered attendees the day of the meeting.
