Thursday February 27, 7:00 pm in Nozhem Theatre, Enwayaang Building, Trent University

Gzowski College is pleased to present “Refugee Journalists in Canada.”

• Filmmaker and Gzowski Visiting Fellow Dr. James Cullingham will discuss his documentary in-development, titled “The Cost of Freedom: Refugee Journalists in Canada.” Followed by a panel discussion with film subjects Abdulrahman Matar (originally from Syria); Arzu Yildis (Turkey); and Luis Horacio Najera (Mexico).

• Trent Alumnus Liana Honsinger, a board member for the Kawartha World Issues Centre and a case management worker at the New Canadians Centre, will be hosting our panel discussion.

• Q and A with our audience will follow the panel, and then we’ll enjoy light refreshments and conversation together.
