FESTIVAL OF STARS

The Township of North Frontenac is delighted to announce our First Annual North Frontenac Dark Sky Preserve Festival of Stars on September 23-25, 2022.

Bring your family, telescopes binoculars for a weekend of fun that will be out of this world!

Come to enjoy seminars put on by local amateur astronomers, raffles, door prizes, and network with fellow astronomers and some of the darkest skies in all of Canada!

For those without telescopes, you can still enjoy views through our Fred Lossing 16” telescope and our 16” Cave Instruments Newtonian reflector.

This weekend promises to be filled with fun and some incredibly Dark Skies!

Please register (its FREE).

Limited to 250 participants.

There is no camping on site but there are plenty of places to stay and eat so Book EARLY!

On site sales of pizza and drinks. NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED ON SITE

There will be washroom facilities.

Hydro available for charging batteries only.

4 seminars from 2:00pm- 4:45 pm

• Light Pollution Display – Rob Dick (RASC)

Sunday

• Prizes Drawn @10:00 am.
• Pack up by 11:00

Note: Must be on site Friday night before sundown (7:00 latest)

Must be wearing Wristband to confirm those who have equipment on site – will be checked by security

NO ALCOHOL on Township Property

Must remain AT LEAST 50 ‘ from Ornge Helipad

If leaving prior to midnight on Friday or Saturday MUST Have headlights covered with red cellophane

Power available for CHARGING Batteries

NOTE: Onsite security from 1:00 am Saturday morning till 4:00 pm and 1:00 Saturday night till 10:00am

Event ends Sunday morning 11:00 all must vacate property by 11:00 am.
