Biography of presenter:
Jane Howe graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 1997 with a Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management and then spent nearly 20 years working in HR and Recruitment in both the public and private sector before joining the University in 2009. After initially working in the Graduate Recruitment Team she took the opportunity to take her skill set across to Volunteering in 2012 and now leads the team in sourcing and promoting volunteering experience for students across all five faculties. The volunteering roles sourced by the team enable students to build and develop their skill sets and are are either course relevant or relevant to potential graduate career paths.
Jacqui Adams is the Careers Adviser linked to the PBS faculty. She facilitates and supports the development of students and graduates in their career journey. This can include helping students develop strategies to grow self esteem and self reflection; giving support in making choice and change; providing tools to carry out effective research, job search and goal setting; encouraging self promotion and self marketing. Jacqui offers mock interviews, CV and cover letter guidance, techniques on confidence building, presentation skills training and other practical skills related to career development and career management.
