YWCA’s mission is to intervene, empower and lead, when and where women need them most. Centrally located in downtown Calgary, the YWCA is dedicated to breaking cycles of family violence, homeless and poverty. They provide emergency shelter, housing, counselling, child development and support. During their more than 105 year history, the YWCA has touched tens of thousands of lives. Last year YWCA Emergency Response Program was accessed by 602 clients. Our afternoon at the Y will be spent getting the facility ready for winter – includes cleaning up planter boxes, raking, mowing lawn. Bring your gardening gloves and dress for the outdoors!

When & Where
This year’s Imperial Calgary United Way campaign runs from October 24 - November 8 2016. The focus is on investing in our community, be it money or time, to improve lives and help those in need.
Our job as leaders in the community is to set the tone, and help everyone understand the need. This is best done through direct exposure to those who need help. Our page for days of caring will identify and help us participate in lending a hand in improving the lives of those in need.
