Financial Literacy Facilitator Training

Purpose of Course

This online course prepares frontline staff of non-profit organizatons serving newcomers to Canada to deliver an easy-to-use curriculum that covers a range of financial topics. The course provides an orientation to the content, facilitation basics and explores how to adapt the Prosper Canada Centre for Financial Literacy’s curriculum to the needs, context, interests and learning styles of the specific groups that you serve.

  • Module Three: Budgeting
  • Module Four: Banking and Financial Services
  • Module Five: Saving
  • Module Six: Credit Basics
  • Module Seven: Credit Reporting
  • Module Eight: Debt
  • Module Nine: Consumerism
  • Summary and Next Steps
  • Post-evaluation

Upon completion of the training you will receive:

  1. A curriculum in PDF format containing all nine modules
  2. A PowerPoint presentation template
  3. A certificate of completion

Criteria for Participation:

This course is open to front line staff that work with newcomers to Canada who are willing to:

  • Participate in the full seven weeks (approx 2-4 hours per week) of online training, including discussion forums
  • Provide post-course feedback to Prosper Canada regarding the online training experience

COST:

FREE! This course is funded by IRCC. Regular course price is $250.

  • I have the consent of my organization’s senior management to participate in the Prosper Canada Centre for Financial Literacy’s Facilitator Training workshop.
