Financial Literacy Facilitator Training

Purpose of Course

This online course prepares frontline staff of non-profit organizatons to deliver an easy-to-use curriculum that covers a range of financial topics. The course provides an orientation to the content, facilitation basics and explores how to adapt the Prosper Canada Centre for Financial Literacy’s curriculum to the needs, context, interests and learning styles of the specific groups that you serve.

Upon completion of the training you will receive:

  1. A curriculum in PDF format containing all nine modules
  2. Access to online evaluation tools
  3. A PowerPoint presentation template
  4. A certificate of completion

Criteria for Participation:

This course is open to front line staff that work with Canadians living on a low income who are willing to:

  • Participate in the full seven weeks (approx 2-4 hours per week) of online training, including discussion forums
  • Provide post-course feedback to Prosper Canada regarding the online training experience
  • Deliver a workshop within six months of receiving the training to at least 15 Canadians living on a low income

$150 plus HST ($169.50) with the option to order a hard copy of the curriculum for an additional $50 plus HST ($56.50). This can be ordered upon completion of the course. This course is subsidized by TD Bank. Regular course price is $250.

By submitting your registration, you are acknowledging the following:

  • I am a staff member or volunteer from a non-profit organization or a social service program (e.g. Social Assistance, Public Health, etc.) which serves low-income populations.
  • I understand that the Prosper Canada Centre for Financial Literacy’s curriculum and tools are for non-profit use only, and are not to be delivered or distributed for a fee.
  • I have the consent of my organization’s senior management to participate in the Prosper Canada Centre for Financial Literacy’s Facilitator Training workshop.
  • When copying or distributing any portion of the curriculum content, I will credit Prosper Canada, and provide a link to when possible.

Can I request to be invoiced for my registration?

Yes. Please click ‘show other payment options’ located under the ‘Register’ button to request an invoice. Registration will be processed only when payment is received in full.

Is my registration transferrable?

You can transfer your registration to someone else online by September 5th. You need to log in or sign up for an Eventbrite account. Log in to Eventbrite and go to manage order and click edit (not transfer). Change the contact (attendee) information. This function is only made available to the original registrant. What is the refund policy?

Substitution is permitted up to September 17th 2018. Cancellations received in writing (email) postmarked by September 24th, 2018 will be fully refunded. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after September 24th, 2018. Should a participant need to withdraw from the course within the first two weeks (from September 24 to October 8) their payment can be transferred to a future course. After April, no transfers or refunds will be accepted. Only cancellations sent to Prosper Canada in writing (including email) will be processed. On-line registration closes Midnight (EST) September 23, 2018.
