Description

Whether you’re new to surfing the Great Lakes or you’re looking to increase your number of surf days, Lake Surfistas will cover how to look for waves in the weather forecasts, including safety, gear, resources, tips and more!

Presented by Robin Pacquing, founder of Lake Surfistas, a Canadian grassroots movement that aspires to bring together women of all abilities to celebrate surfing, SUP and SUP surfing. From 32°F TO 32°C, let Lake Surfistas help you get out there all year-round. Follow Lake Surfistas on Instagram and join in on the lake stoke - @LakeSurfistas

Cost: Pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $20. All proceeds will go to more women-powered Lake Surfistas, and other Great Lakes community events. Register via Eventbrite or at the door.

About the Presenter:

Robin Pacquing is one of the first women in Toronto to surf the Lower Great Lakes and has lots to tell you about our local waters. With a degree in Geography and healthy obsession for maps, Robin will talk story, and how wind, time, and patience will get you riding more waves starting this season. Go beyond the basics and review the charts, maps, and stats to get the big picture of our freshwater seas. This session is perfect for the committed lake surfer of all skill levels.

About Fjallraven:

Since Fjällräven was founded in 1960, they have been inspiring people to get outside. Building on their love of the outdoors, Fjällräven Toronto is partnering up with Lake Surfistas, the local all-women surf squad to support more people to discover and experience the Great Lakes. This workshop is one of the first sessions in the Local Guides series - ask Diana Lee, Fjallraven Toronto's Local Guide (also a member of Lake Surfistas :-), for more info!
