Event description

Description

Meet one of our development instructors: Betty Li

Come to our campus for a chat + meet and greet with Betty Li – a member of our Front-End Web Development instruction team + Front-End Developer at Shopify!

Hear about what you will learn in our 10-week part-time Front-End Web Development course, as well as Betty's experiences as a former full-time Bitmaker student. Bring your questions!

About Betty Li

Betty's path to becoming a web developer was an unconventional one. Starting her career in a different industry, she discovered her affinity for coding while managing online ads. Guided by that spark of curiosity, Betty forged her new path into tech by enrolling in Bitmaker's Web Development Immersive program in 2013. Since then, Betty's become an instructor of our part-time Front-End Web Development course, contributing to product development, infrastructure builds and creating curriculum.

Her full-time role is at Shopify – first joining the company to design a program to level up the technical skills of its Support teams, now her role is Front-End Developer. Betty organizes workshops for Women Who Code Toronto, and also builds learning tools for aspiring programmers.
