First Nations Interpretive Walk with Mark Albany
Event Information
Description
Due to the popularity of past walks, the FGCA is excited to once again partner with Mark Albany to offer a First Nations interpretive walk in our neighbourhood this spring!
Join Mark Albany, member of the Songhees Nation and First Nations Counsellor with School District 61, on an interpretive walk offering a First Nations perspective on the land we inhabit. Mark will lead participants in an experiential learning opportunity beginning in Beacon Hill Park and exploring some of the surrounding area, giving an immersive view of the pre-settler landscape as well as the past and ongoing effects of colonialism.

· Meet at 10am at the totem pole on the South end of Beacon Hill Park
· Participants must be capable of walking on uneven terrain for an extend period of time
· Participants must wear sturdy footwear and dress appropriately for the weather
