Description

Developing Water security research Partnerships

  • Focus: Indigenizing water security solution based research, health & climate change research.

  • Premise: The recent Naylor Review of Science & Innovation, the TRC Calls to Action and Federal government’s commitment to proper inclusion of Indigenous Knowledge (IK) signal a critical need to link & engage the scientific community and develop relationships with existing researchers such as Global Water Futures, funding agencies NSERC, CIHR-IIPH and government including AFN research delegates.

  • Purpose: This Symposium is designed to introduce FNs environmental researchers, leaders and agencies to environmental/water researchers in their traditional territories.

  • Goals: To develop Indigenous communities research strategies for the GWF Program to foster knowledge-exchange * identification of funding opportunities & synergies and sharing of FN research, potential partners within University-community based research.

  • Collaboration: You and your organization have been identified as potentially interested stakeholder, participant and/or presenter.
