Description

Join the Peterborough Drug Strategy and the Question of Care project for a one-day interactive workshop on first stage trauma treatment. Develop new ways to integrate trauma informed practice into your work and share safety and stabilization techniques with clients.

Trauma informed practice offers safety and stabilization skills to clients, including:

Grounding (Directed / Sensory / Cognitive Awareness)
Safe Place Visualization
Containment
Body Awareness / Body Scan
Self-Soothing

Identifying and Labeling Emotions
Assigning Meaning to Events

Lead Facilitator

Cheryl Robinson (FourCAST) is a Registered Psychotherapist with over 12 years experience working in the addiction and mental health field. She coaches using trauma informed techniques in her practice as well as teaching trauma informed skills in trainings to new staff and community partners.
