Description
Parkette Kitchen and Bar and Ocean Wise host an evening of unique and tasty Ocean Wise seafood dishes, marine-themed drinks, and conversation about sustainable seafood.
Parkette chefs Ashley and Trevor will prepare a mouth-watering sustainable seafood menu with special marine-themed drinks (one of each included in the ticket). The restaurant is set in a converted art shop only steps from Trinity Bellwoods Park.
Speakers from the Atlantic Salmon Restoration Centre and Ocean Wise will engage on the troubles facing our fish and how our seafood choices can protect the health of our waterways.
Door prizes and good fun to be had. Partial proceeds to benefit Ocean Wise.

Speakers:
Chris Robinson is a fisheries biologist with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and the coordinator for the Lake Ontario Atlantic Salmon Restoration Program (a.k.a. Bring Back the Salmon), a multi-organization partnership to restore this historic species to the lake. Atlantic Salmon were once so abundant in Lake Ontario, they could be caught be the barrel! He will explain why the fish have disappeared and the struggle faced in bringing back the unofficial species of our city.
Robin Poirier from Vancouver Aquarium's Ocean Wise program will give you the tools to act and choose seafood and lake fish options that support healthy ocean and lake eco-systems for years to come.
