Description

The theme for our 2017 Educators' Conference is Education Through Reconciliation: Hearing The Truth. Keynote speakers are Dr Pamela Toulouse (Saturday) and Dr Niigaan Sinclair (Sunday).

We would like to acknowledge the Chippewas of the Thames on whose treaty and ancestral territory our conference is taking place.




You do not need to be a member of FNMIEAO to attend this conference. We do encourage you to become a member. It's free!

Please choose the ticket option that works best for you.

NOTE: A separate form is available to board leads who wish to register groups of educators. Please confirm with your school board if this option is available to you.

NOTE: Upon registering, you will soon receive a confirmation email. In the fall, you will receive another email about accommodating requests for dietary and mobility needs. If there are any changes to the conference, we will contact you via email. Please use an email address you regularly access.


Conference registration options include: full conference, workshops and lunch only both days, Saturday only, Saturday dinner and social only, Sunday only. Discounted rates are available for Elders, Traditional Practitioners, Senators, students, and employees of First Nations schools.

Full Conference Package Registration includes:

  • late morning & afternoon snack/refreshments (both days)
  • lunch (both days)
  • Sat. dinner and Big Drum Social
  • Sunrise ceremony & breakfast on Sunday

Please read through the options carefully to ensure you are choosing the option that best meets your needs.

You may want to bring the following:

  • long skirts (needed if attending Sunrise Ceremony)
  • drum (optional)
  • tobacco offerings
  • gifts for Elders - if you wish to speak personally with them
  • bundle - bring your own cutlery, water bottle, etc.

Many publishers, craft vendors, and resources will be available!

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, you will show your ticket upon registration. Upon registration at the conference, you will receive an envelope with your actual tickets.

What is the refund policy?

No refunds after October 13, 2017

I have dietary restrictions, so will there be accommodations for lunches and/or dinner?

Yes! A confirmation email will be sent closer to the date of the conference. In that email, you will be asked about dietary needs. You must respond to the email.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Travelling back and forth from your hotel to the location will be your own responsibility.

What can I bring into the event?

The following are optional things to bring to the event
