On April 3, 2017, the Ottawa Board of Health directed Ottawa Public Health (OPH) to consult with relevant stakeholders regarding policy options at the municipal level to restrict the marketing of unhealthy food and beverages to children and youth.

The main objective of OPH’s consultation plan is to ensure that Ottawa residents, businesses, organizations and other interested parties have the opportunity to provide meaningful input on the topic of food and beverage marketing to children and youth in Ottawa. The results of these consultations will be presented in a Board report, and used to inform OPH’s recommendations regarding possible change in policy.

OPH is seeking input from the general public, businesses, community groups, City of Ottawa departments, and others from May to September. We believe that this issue may be of interest to you, and we want your point of view to be included.

If you are interested in attending, please register here. If you are not able to attend but would like to provide your comments, please contact or complete the survey at
