Whether you are a new parent, an experienced parent embarking on early food introduction for a baby whose sibling already has food allergies, or you just want to learn more about infant oral immunotherapy, join us as Dr. Edmond Chan provides an update on the latest research and recommendations surrounding infant OIT. During his talk, Dr. Chan will examine recent safety and effectiveness data for infant and toddler oral immunotherapy, and discuss advantages of prioritizing infants for oral immunotherapy using real cases from his clinical practice.
Dr. Lianne Soller, Allergy Research Manager for the virtual Food Allergy Immunotherapy (FAIT) program at BC Children's Hospital, will also be providing an update on the program, including the transition to virtual services, publication of an anxiety screening tool manuscript, hiring new nurses, and approval of the BC Children's Hospital Foundation to fundraise for virtual FAIT.
Drs. Chan and Soller will answer audience questions at the end of their presentation.
Dr. Chan is a board certified Pediatric Allergist at BC Children's Hospital, Clinical Investigator with the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute, and Division Head and Clinical Professor in the Division of Allergy and Immunology, Department of Pediatrics, with the University of British Columbia. He is also the lead allergist for the Virtual Food Allergy Immunotherapy (FAIT) Research Program at BC Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Soller is the Allergy Research Manager for the virtual Food Allergy Immunotherapy (FAIT) program at BC Children’s Hospital. In this role, Dr. Soller manages a growing food allergy research team on the treatment of food allergy, including research nurses, a dietitian, and multiple trainees.
