About this event

This guided food forest tour will take place at Richard Walker's food forest demonstration project in Osoyoos. Richard will share information about forest gardening, including creating “plant guilds”, which means incorporating medicinal plants, food plants, wildlife habitat/food plants, and nitrogen fixing plants into planting systems where each plays an important role in maintaining a thriving ecosystem. Richard Walker is the esteemed author of the book: “Food Forestry North of the 49th” and has graciously hosted this guided site visit in previous years. His home garden project contains plants suited to Okanagan growing conditions.
