About this Event

Can we feed a future population of 10 billion people a healthy diet within planetary boundaries?

To answer this question, EAT (eatforum.org) gathered 37 of the planet’s foremost experts who, for the first time ever, proposed scientific targets for what constitutes both a healthy diet and a sustainable food system.

How can the City of Toronto respond to this planetary call to action?

The City of Toronto invites you to a presentation, panel discussion and Q&A on the report from the EAT-Lancet Commission on Food, Planet, Health and how this can positively impact Torontonians.

Panelists:

  • Dr. Fabrice DeClerck, Science Director, EAT Lancet Commission
  • David Miller, North American Regional Director & Global Ambassador for Inclusive Climate Action, C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group and former Mayor of Toronto
  • Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto's Medical Officer of Health
  • Makiko Taguchi, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
  • Paul M. Taylor, FoodShare Toronto

Hosted by:

Jim Baxter, Environment and Energy Division

Barbara Emanuel, Toronto Public Health
