*The entrance is in the alleyway behind The Karma Teachers entrance. The door has a sign that says “Phoenix”. We share space with The Karma Teachers and there will likely be class in session. To respect the process of our neighbours we will need absolute silence upon entering the building. Once you are in the studio space feel free to talk and share. One of our beautiful volunteers will be at the door to greet you and direct you up stairs.

*Our event is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

*We will have some chairs and pillows but most seating will be on the floor. If you or a loved one needs/prefers a chair let me know via email rachelhelten@gmail.com

Thank you enormously to the artists and volunteers for offering their time, energy and brilliance!

*We acknowledge 45 W Hastings is located on the unceded, ancestral and traditional Coast Salish territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) people. As artist that live, work and play on these lands, we strive to be allies with, to learn from and to acknowledge the rights of indigenous peoples.

“About Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS)

CPAWS is Canada’s voice for wilderness. Since 1963, we’ve led in creating over two-thirds of Canada’s protected areas. That amounts to about half a million square kilometres – an area bigger than the entire Yukon Territory! Our vision is that Canada will protect at least half of our public land and water. As a national charity with 13 chapters, 60,000 supporters and hundreds of volunteers, CPAWS works collaboratively with governments, local communities, industry and indigenous peoples to protect our country’s amazing natural places. We’re also on guard to ensure that our parks are managed to protect the nature within them.

Our Mission

CPAWS envisages a healthy ecosphere where people experience and respect the natural ecosystem.

We will achieve this by:

* protecting Canada’s wild ecosystems in parks, wilderness and similar natural areas, preserving the full diversity of habitats and their species;

* promoting awareness and understanding of ecological principles and the inherent values of wilderness through education, appreciation and experience;

* working co-operatively with government, First Nations, business, other organizations and individuals in a consensus-seeking manner, wherever possible.

CPAWS believes that by ensuring the health of the parts, we ensure the health of the whole, which is our health, too.”
