Forced to Flee: The Refugee Journey

Migration and increasing levels of human mobility are part of our interconnected world. Today, an unprecedented number of people find themselves caught in situations of acute conflict and violence, and often must flee their homes and all they have ever known in order to survive. MSF delivers emergency humanitarian medical care to some of the world’s most vulnerable people, and has been providing assistance and protection to refugees and internally displaced people for more than 45 years.

Currently, MSF is directly responding to the needs of forcibly displaced people in more than 20 countries, as well as through our humanitarian search-and-rescue operations on the Mediterranean Sea. Our patients often recount individual stories of violence, suffering and trauma, but also of hope for a better future.

Join us for a conversation with some of the Canadians who help MSF provide care to people on the front lines of the global displacement crisis, and to discuss how we can better protect the health of the millions who are driven from home by war, poverty, persecution and trauma. Meet MSF Canada staff, members of our Board of Directors and recently returned field workers.
