Have family photos you want to preserve or identify? Looking for photos of your Huron County ancestors? Curious about how an archives works? Archivist Michael Molnar and Curator of Engagement & Dialogue Sinead Cox share some of the secrets and revelations of the photo collections held at the Huron County Museum.
Join Michael Molnar (Archivist at the Huron County Museum) as he shares highlights of historical photographs that have been donated to the Huron County Museum over the years. Michael will offer some general tips on how to preserve your old photographs so that future generations can access and enjoy them. Michael will also share some thoughts on the importance of identifying and recording the names of people and places captured in your photographs to ensure enduring value. Curator of Engagement & Dialogue Sinead Cox will share findings, discoveries, and identifications made during the Forgotten exhibit that have enhanced the context of the museum’s photos collections, as well as research tips for adding value to your own collections or finding photos of ancestors using available local resources.
