Forward Food Leadership Summit
Event Information
Description
NAIT is hosting the Forward Food Leadership Summit on Wednesday, May 30, 2018: a free one-day event for anyone in foodservice to learn from industry leaders about meeting the demand for plant-based meals and marketing healthy foods.
Learn from a range of experts, enjoy a culinary demonstration as well as a delicious lunch and network with individuals seasoned in the art of bringing healthier menus to their guests.
This is the first event of its kind in Alberta. During the summit, you will hear from food and nutrition experts on how they are addressing the ever-increasing demand for plant-based menu items and how they have transformed their dining operations to include new and creative plant-based dishes! You’ll learn about how leading institutions in North America are cutting food costs, increasing student satisfaction, reducing their environmental footprint and boosting sales by serving more plant-based or plant-forward dishes.
Guest speakers highlighted for the day include:
-
Chef Michelle Robinson, a NAIT alumni who is the owner of the vegan Good Stock Restaurant here in Edmonton.
-
Dustin Bajer, Urban AG High Coordinator with Sustainable Food Edmonton, a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable, urban agriculture.
-
Chef Amy Zarichnak, a culinary specialist with the Humane Society of the United States who will be doing an incredible cooking demo for everyone to taste!
