Founder Fundamentals is Going Virtual!

We recognize the growing concerns around COVID-19 and deeply value the safety of the public and our speakers. Hence we've decided to deliver the remainder of this program virtually until operations are back to normal.

The instructions are simple. You can register on Eventbrite as normal. Every week we will be emailing the LIVE web-conference link to registered attendants 60 minutes prior to the session. You can still engage and interact with the session, from the comfort of your own home!

About Founder Fundamentals

YSpace, York University’s innovation hub is partnering with the Markham Small Business Centre (MSBC), Richmond Hill Small Business Enterprise Centre (RHSBEC), Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre (VBEC), York Small Business Enterprise Centre (YSBEC) to host a 12-week educational program called Founders Fundamentals.

Founders Fundamental is a regional program designed to help you kick start your entrepreneurial career. Whether you are a professional services company, brick and mortar or technology startup, the program aims to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed. Spanning across topics such as social media marketing, to grant writing, to bootstrapping and more this program provides a wide range of learning. In addition, the program connects you with local resources within your municipality such as your local Small Business Centres and more. Individuals that complete all 12-weeks of learning will receive an Innovation York Certificate of Completion from YSpace.

About the Workshop

In this session we will learn why understanding your financial statements and knowing your numbers are important to your business. We will learn how to make reasonable assumptions to create budgets and estimate future cash flows for your new and growing business. We will also cover some basic tax fundamentals and provide insight into technology trends and solutions available to assist business owners with their accounting functions.

About the Presenter

Rosanna Lamanna, CPA, CA, LPA has 20 years experience providing accounting, tax and business advisory services. In addition to assisting companies with their financial reporting and tax compliance needs, she offers strategic advice and helps companies identify business process improvements. She has considerable experience in working with early stage companies, as well as, those scaling for growth. Her extensive experience working with food, beverage, consumer products and technology companies, among others, allows her to share industry knowledge and insight, including sector-specific matters to identify opportunities, navigate challenges and to provide meaningful advice, including value-added recommendations.
