Dr. Zindel Segal and the students of the Graduate Department of Psychological Clinical Science would like to invite you to the 4th Annual UTSC Mindfulness Summit on Friday, October 13th, 2017 at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), Catalyst Centre (EV151/152).

This year’s summit will explore the current research and use of mindfulness-based interventions in vulnerable populations, including in borderline personality disorder, substance abuse and at-risk teens. This event will include a guided meditation by Dr. Zindel Segal, as well as workshops provided by Dr. Amanda Uliaszek, Kirstin Bindseil, Heidi Bornstein and Mary Githumbi.

The UTSC annual summit is committed to improving the knowledge and skills of clinical and counseling psychology graduate students and early stage clinicians interested in mindfulness-based interventions. Attendees will also have an opportunity to network with peers and experts in the field of mindfulness therapy and research.

Summit Schedule:

9:30-10:00 Registration and continental breakfast

10:00-10:30 Welcome, meditation exercise, and summit orientation by Dr. Zindel Segal

10:30-11:30 First Speaker: Heidi Bornstein and Mary Githumbi (Topic: Stress Reduction for At-Risk Teens)

11:30-11:45 Break

11:45-12:45 Second Speaker: Dr. Amanda Uliaszek (Topic: Borderline Personality Disorder)

12:45-1:30 Lunch

1:30-2:30 Third Speaker: Kirstin Bindseil (Topic: Substance Abuse and Clinicians as a Vulnerable Population)

2:30-3:30 Coffee and floating panel

Registration for this workshop is free. When you register, you'll also have the option to make a donation to Jack.Org in lieu of your ticket price.

Registration includes a light breakfast, lunch, and refreshments. Vegetarian options will be available. More information can be found in the event program.
