Wendy sings, step dances, plays harp, whistle, oboe, and English horn. She is an award winning writer and has published two storybooks for children.
Arthur McGregor has played and organized folk music for most of his life and is well known as the founder of the Ottawa Folklore Centre. Arthur sings, plays guitar, autoharp, Appalachian dulcimer, bodhran, clawhammer-style banjo, djembe and mandolin. He is also a Rathskallion. Arthur has received ‘The Unsung Hero’ Award from the Canadian Folk Music Awards, The Estelle Klein Award (Folk Music Ontario) and the Helen Verger Award (Ottawa Folk Festival) for his work in the world of folk music.
Their first recording, ‘Dream With Me’, produced by Paul Mills (Stan Rogers, Sharon, Lois and Bram, Ron Hynes) has been well received and played across North America with journalist Mike Regenstreif writing: "…a marvelous debut album of songs and tunes by a duo who have long worked together (often performing kids’ shows as the Celtic Rathskallions) …includes superb original songs by Arthur, traditional Celtic tunes, and several excellent songs drawn from other writers. A gem of an album to begin the new year.”
The Fourth Friday House Concert series runs each month from January to June.
