About this event

We are so excited to be back in person and would like to invite you to join us for a free lunch and a presentation on FASD!

FASD is a life-long, brain-based disability that causes mild to severe impairment in physical, cognitive, sensory, and behavioral development. This disability affects approximately 4% of the Saskatchewan population yet it remains relatively unknown so the FASD Network is holding free Lunch n' Learn events to provide education on this unique disability.

We will be hosting the lunch n' learn sessions in Saskatoon, Regina, and Prince Albert.

During the hour-and-a-half presentations, there will be conversations surrounding the stigma associated with FASD and how to compact the negative impacts and challenge conversations to be more hopeful and positive about FASD. We will explore the primary symptoms that are associated with FASD and how systems so often do not understand people with FASD which can result in adverse outcomes.

Each attendee will be challenged to consider how they might use this knowledge of FASD to make a difference in their current or future careers. FASD is a unique disability that requires knowledge and understanding of how the disability presents to offer beneficial support or assistance to the individual.

The presentations are open to anyone in the community! The information presented will be of interest to:

- Post-secondary students

- Frontline workers

- Support workers

- Social workers

- Community agencies

- Childcare workers

- Education professionals

- Caregivers

- Family Members

- Individuals with FASD
