Event description

Description

You are driving home from work—fast. You hit every stoplight. You tap your fingers on the steering wheel as you watch the minutes tick by. You feel your neck muscles strain while your stomach burns. You've been suffering from migraines for months, and are certain another one is coming on.

You feel nauseous. Your thoughts race to all the things you haven’t finished.

You drop into bed completely exhausted, but can’t sleep. No matter how ferociously you paddle, it feels like you are drowning.

You want to take back control, but you are not sure where to start.

This is the story of high-functioning anxiety.

Anxiety manifests differently for everyone. Some people get stuck in the thought cycle while others get caught up in the emotional response or get overwhelmed by the physical symptoms.

There is a type of anxiety that keeps you frozen, and another type that pushes you through life, forcing you to move and take action. The latter is often called “high-functioning” because the person who experiences it is being “productive”. On the outside, it seems like everything is working well, but to the person struggling, life feels like a pressure-cooker.

If this sounds familiar, we encourage you to join us for our upcoming FREE workshop.

You will learn:

* The signs and symptoms of anxiety as it relates to your experiences
* How to deepen your awareness of your personal triggers
* How to take back control from the grips of anxiety (the ‘tiger in the room’ scenario)
* Stabilization techniques to manage the physical symptoms before they escalate

Join us for a great and informative evening, led by Registered Psychotherapist, Gina Miranda.
