Description

On TUESDAYS AUG 8 & 29, 1-4PM, children and youth will enjoy a FREE collaborative cooking session, a grocery store treasure hunt and healthy eating activities! Meals on Wheels London, Growing Chefs Ontario!, The Old East Village Grocer, and London Public Library are delighted to partner in offering these free sessions. Classes will be held at The Village Table @ 630 Dundas Street in a heritage building shared with the Old East Village Grocer.

Registration is required. We highly encourage any older adult family members to register as well on Eventbrite and engage with their youth during the session. (Please note that older adult family registration is not necessary for children/youth to attend.)

With this unique opportunity, children and youth will gain:

  • Increased confidence with cooking, navigating the kitchen, kitchen tools, and the grocery store;

  • an appreciation of cooking and creative possibilities in the kitchen;

  • increased recipe literacy and understanding of kitchen safety;

  • an immersion of the senses in a tactile, tasting, and smelling experience; and

  • the sense of community connection that comes from sharing and making a meal together!
