Do you want to start a meditation practice and don't know where to start?

Or do you meditate already, and need support to make it more regular and go deeper?

Meditation Groundwork is a program of live, online guided meditation sessions to support a regular practice. Yes, you can practice with real people, live!

Your first step in Meditation Groundwork is to join this orientation session. This is a free session that includes two guided meditations and some basic meditation instruction. If you already have experience, we'd still like to meet you here before we invite you to join our monthly program of live meditations.

What is Meditation Groundwork?

Meditation Groundwork is our monthly program of live meditations, by subscription. We currently offer live guided sessions on four weekdays each week - two mornings and two evenings - and a longer meditation on Sunday evenings. These are designed to give you the structure and support for a regular meditation practice.

To join, we ask that you first attend one of our Orientation Sessions.

Here, we will give you details about:

-How to open and close a meditation session

-Ways to sit and support your posture

-Basics of breathing and guided meditations

-Ways to practice generosity

You'll then have the opportunity each month to subscribe for streamed group sits each month. *You do not need to attend all group sits. Just do what you can.

Ongoing streaming meditations will be done by monthly subscription, such that you may renew your commitment and intention each month.

When?

March 2nd at 8pm Mountain Time (Calgary) (or join our mailing list for personal invitation to a future session or our free live meditations).

Online, on Zoom.

If you want to start a meditation practice and don't know where to start.

Why?

Part of you knows that dedicating time to stop and breathe mindfully is important. It’s hard to make it happen alone! We know that from experience!

Whatever good intention, the reality is that all is set up for you to be drawn back into habits and busyness. It takes a good amount of effort to disroot this habit of thinking about everything, everywhere, all the time! It is just what we know. What we are used to.

You may have recognized that this approach to life is not fulfilling. That somewhat, whatever you do, you always fall back into some sort of anxiety, dissatisfaction or pain. Ultimately, you know that true peace is found inwards. All you need is dedicated time and effort to train yourself into being present with this moment, just as it is, without needing to do much about it.

This group practice will help you develop the muscle of concentrating the mind on something truly wonderful and anchoring, your very own breath.

The gain

These sessions are meant to provide the structure needed in order to make progress on your personal growth journey.

-Weekly structure of group sits (20 minutes on two weekday mornings and two weekday evenings, and a longer sit on Sunday evening)

-Increased knowledge of the practice of breathing and guided meditations

-Guidance from practitioners with a combined 25+ years of meditation experience

-Practice with a community of dedicated practitioners

-Access to supplementary sits, classes, and a wider community to go deeper
