About this event
Practicing mindfulness and gratitude can transform the brain. Mindfulness can calm us in the moment and regular practice can help us stay grounded. Gratitude can improve our physical and emotional health, boost sleep, encourage self-esteem and usher in more meaningful relationships.
Join us for a great talk when Jessica Schumacher, Volunteer and Student Placement Coordinator with the Canadian Mental Health Association – Waterloo Wellington’s Mental Health Promotion and Education Services comes by the Cottage to teach us some strategies and tools to help us begin practicing this helpful technique today!
Jessica Schumacher has worked for the Canadian Mental Health Association with the Mental Health Promotion Education Services team for over six years. She ran peer-led groups about education and skill-building around resilience, wellness, and stigma reduction. Recently she has transferred roles and is now the Volunteer and Student Coordinator of CMHAWW. She is a motivated, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about wellness, community engagement, and education that will help others grow and develop their own personal skills and learning.
