Description

Late April brings an abundance of fresh vegetables to the farmers’ markets in the Lower Mainland. Along with wild salmon, we’ll celebrate the seasonal produce cooking local fare with a Nordic twist.

On the menu today:

- Mushrooms with fresh greens and ramps (wild leeks): Sautéed wild mushrooms on a bed of young salad greens. We’ll use the wild leeks both in the salad and in the pesto-like dressing.

- Salmon with mustard sauce, steamed and roasted asparagus : House-made mustard (bring a jar to take some home!) adds extra flavour to fresh salmon, baked in the oven, and doubles as a dipping sauce for asparagus cooked two ways.

- Rhubarb cake and coulis: Think rhubarb is a sour fruit? Think again as we bake it in a light almond cake and cook it up for a sweet coulis to be drizzled over.

You can register in person and over the phone directly with the store (604) 939-6200. Payment is required when you register - visa, mastercard, debit, gift certificates and cash are accepted. We require 72 hours notice if you can't make it to your class for a full refund or to move you to another class. If you need to cancel but have not given 72 hours notice, a refund will not be issued but you can always send somebody in your place. Chefs will try to accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions if given 72 hours notice. Please inquire prior to booking if there are any food concern.
