Friends of Sable Island Society 2019 Membership Drive

As a ‘Friends of’ group working with Parks Canada, we focus on developing and delivering education programs, promoting research, and giving a voice and a means of action to the world-wide community of those who are passionate about this special place. We have offered an annual scholarship in support of post-secondary education since 2013. In 2015 and again in 2017 we held an open-call conference dedicated to Sable Island, attracting presentations on a variety of topics encompassing the history, science and management of Sable Island. We are also transcribing the paper records of the superintendents of Sable Island from 1801-1958 to make them more accessible to historians, researchers and interested persons around the world.

The Friends of Sable Island Society invites you to join our membership to help protect and preserve Sable Island for generations to come. As a valued member you will:

• Be supporting the Friend’s programs such as our annual scholarship, website, future conferences, historical story gathering, and public presentations;

• Have opportunities to contribute to Sable Island as a volunteer or participant in activities;

• Receive notice of special events via email and an annual newsletter; and,

• Have voting privileges at our Annual General Meeting and be eligible to be nominated and elected to serve on our Board of Directors.

There are two membership options available: an annual membership for $20 and a lifetime membership for $100. Please also consider a gift membership for your friends and family, and of course as a non-profit organization, donations are always welcome. Your support for Sable Island and our work is greatly appreciated.
