Frog Hollow Youth Advisory Committee Presents: Hunger Banquet 2016
Did you know that 1 in 6 children in Canada struggle with hunger every night? Not many people know how much this impacts our communities, even though the University of Toronto reported 3.2 million Canadians being affected by food insecurity in 2014. We at Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House’s Youth Advisory Committee believe that food disparity is an important issue.
We are a dedicated group of young people that want to strengthen and empower our community. We will be hosting a Hunger Banquet on December 21, 2016 to educate our community about this issue. Dinner will be served.
There will be a series of speakers on the topic of homelessness but also on food disparity. As a way to get our community involved, they will be helping with the completion of all the care packages that we will be giving to mothers in need.
